Country Living

Just hanging out with the ponies!

We had such a lovely time with our friends in Gloucestershire a few weeks ago. Caroline and Jon have just moved back from Cyprus after FOUR years of living out there with the Army and they have moved back into their lovely farmhouse at Baden Hill Farm. I keep wanting to call in Boden Hill Farm right enough...... can't think why.
One of their daughters Maddie (in the photos with my two) was Cecilie's bestest friend at school in Episkopi so it was lovely to see them all playing again together. They have four kids so it was utter chaos as you can imagine. Despite that the grown ups found time for quaffing wine and lots of catching up on all of the gossip!! Andy used to belong to Jon's Regiment so they know some of the same personalities which is always interesting!!As well as their very cute Retriever puppy, Poppy (or Poopy as she is sometimes known......) they have also aquired 12 chickens, 3 ponies and a couple of guinea pigs....... Can you imagine? My kids are lucky to have a rescue dog and a couple of goldfish!!!!

Mmmm, lettuce, tasty...
Poppy and Lola taking the girls for a walk!!

Caroline was one of the friends I met in Cyprus who made me howl with laughter (and still does) with her dry wit and general attitude to life. Their house sounds like a madhouse most of the time but the kids are lovely and despite all the chaos it was a lovely relaxing weekend and just what we needed. They've ditched the sun and sand for "Jam & Jerusalem" in the country as Caroline has been invited to join the local branch of the WI....... When I asked her what qualifications you needed to join the WI, her reply was this... "I think having a pulse is all you need to join the WI. Sometimes I think they are lenient about that rule too!"
More hanging out with ponies...the one on the right looks like it might fancy nibbling Maddies toes!!!
